Let's fight against climate change: let's use wood
Silvelox and its sustainable development policy
Silvelox is one of the European companies working in the wood industry and committing itself for sustainable development since its main raw material, wood, comes from forests that are managed by sustainable economy principles.
The European Commission has recently concluded that “wood products play an important role in the struggle against climate change because they imply the reduction of carbon in the atmosphere”.
The specific properties of those products, and particularly: the capacity to conserve the carbonic anhydride, the fact that they are mainly recyclable, the renewability of the raw material and the low content of fossil fuels in comparison to other materials, make wood an ideal product (since they reduce the production of Greenhouse gas) in line with political struggles against global warming. (DG Enterprises, Report on the role of wood product to reduce weather changes – 2004).
That is why those environmentally friendly features of wood represent an important solution for raw materials. In fact, wood is more and more present in production lines in the context of a sustainable development policy for the respect of our environment and the protection of our ecosystems.
